We sometimes forget the fact, but out there, above our heads, an enormous complex of cosmic exploration is in orbit: the International Space Station (ISS), where not only astronomy but also physics, biology and meteorology experiments are undertaken, as well as in other disciplines.

To showcase the work that takes place on the ISS, NASA recently launched the ISS Research Explorer, a wonderful app that shows in detail, and in a fun way, that scientific work that goes on onboard. There are various means of exploration: by scientific field (biology and biotechnology, human research, earth and space science, among others), by expedition or by sponsor. Once you choose an experiment, it is explained, as well as who are the researchers involved, and how long it lasts.

In addition to that, the app complements the information with external links, games, videos and other resources that satisfy curiosity in the work of the ISS but which also lead us to more questions, thus complying with its educational and exploratory purpose. ISS Research Explorer is available for iOS and Android.
