Inspired, of course, by that great magician, Willy Wonka, the Museum of Ice Cream will open its doors this month in New York. The creativity behind the project includes the combined forces of “artists and designers obsessed with ice cream.” Among them is Dr. Irwin Adam Eydelnant, scientific director of the Future Food Studio in Toronto, Canada.

Everyone has had an experience at some point in their lives when ice cream brings back memories, says Eydelnant. “I want visitors to explore the tastes and how they work, and their relationship with those memories.”

Interactive installations at the museum include a “sprinkle pool,” fully swimmable, edible balloons, a chocolate room and a huge collaborative sundae. Visitors can swing on an ice cream sandwich, ride an ice cream scooper seesaw or choose their favorite flavors and colors with the Tinder Land app. Of course, visitors can also satisfy their cravings at an exclusive tasting put together by the same Dr. Eydelnant.
