For International Yoga Day on June 21, Tierra Santa Healing House will celebrate with a morning hatha yoga class led by Lina Pinilla and a special afternoon workshop with Gary Sikorski of Happy Face Yoga, who will teach guests his famous facial exercise program to bring an overall youthful vitality
Faena’s daily yoga classes are an integral part of the spa’s philosophy to “achieve illumination, or ‘unity’ in spirit, mind and body,” says Spa Director Agustina Caminos, a certified yoga instructor and pranic healer.
Yoga gives meaning to one’s life. When you realize you are a spiritual being manifesting in a mental, emotional and physical body, you realize you are one with the universe and that we are here to evolve, and help others to do so.
For guests who want their faces to reflect the happiness in their hearts, they can spend time with Gary Sikorski learning his 30-minute daily facial toning routine focused on “muscle- resistance” techniques to increase blood circulation, which helps to increase collagen and elastin in the skin. A new study published in the Journal of American Medical Association, conducted by Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, found that the estimated average patient age appearance decreased almost three years over the course of the study. “Practicing the exercises on a daily basis for an extended period of six to 10 weeks helps to make the shape of the face fuller, soften fine lines, widen eyes, lift cheeks and strengthen the jawline,” says Sikorski.
