Chef José Mendín joins Faena Hotel Miami Beach’s Chef Collective Series on January 25, serving up a “Food of the Islands” feast
Shake off the winter chill with an island-style culinary celebration as part of Faena’s monthly series, Chef Collective.
This popular culinary event will kick off the New Year with a collaboration between Chef Paul Qui of Pao restaurant and Chef José Mendín, founding partner and chef of the Pubbelly Restaurant Group.
Puerto-Rican born Chef José Mendín is a beloved hometown hero both in Miami and San Juan and has a resume star-studded with the names of culinary heavy-weights as well as a range of international experiences crisscrossing the Pacific Ocean, from Florida to London, Spain to the US heartland. He is currently opening his first restaurant in Puerto Rico under the name PB Ysla.
On January 25th, Chefs Qui and Medin will serve up a feast of island flavors, featuring some of the newly developed recipes that are derived from Chef Mendín’s latest restaurant project. Dishes will draw upon the exotic ingredients and spices that are central to Puerto Rican culture, infused with subtle modern touches and traces of the Chef’s past work in Las Vegas, Chicago, New York, London, Spain, and Miami.
