Arctic Motion: Time-lapse Captures the Spiraling Dance of an Aurora Borealis

Inspire

The series of Norwegian arctic landscapes sheds light on the nature’s ubiquitous narrative essence.

Ever since the director and illusionist Geroges Melies first used the technique we now know as time-lapse, the tool has gained more and more popularity in generating narratives through a sequence of images. Landscapes are doubtlessly the best possible choice for this stunning documentation technique, and we need to watch Tor Even Mathisen’s work through his protect Arctic Motion to prove this.

In Mathisen’s five minute long timelapse, we enjoy a myriad of natural landscapes from his native Norway, amongst them rolling clouds gleaming off frozen seas, silent panoramic fields and, best of all, the sublime dance of beautiful Auroras.
