FAENA JAZZ SERIES RETURNS!
In keeping with Faena’s commitment to delivering unparalleled offerings and experiences, once again jazz lovers from South Florida and beyond are invited to enjoy the sounds of great jazz in at the intimate and glamorous Faena Theater. The 2024 Faena Jazz Series returns with its greatest season yet: a lineup of seven fantastic shows produced and curated by Grammy-nominated record producer and artist, Rachel Faro.
The series kicks off on January 27th with a Grammy winner, Jazzmeia Horn and one of today’s great jazz vocalists, and closes on June 19th with Michael Mayo, one of greatest current young talents whose commanding and other worldly vocalese will serenade the crowd. Grammy nominee and legendary percussionist Sammy Figueroa, featuring Grammy winning singer, Aymee Nuviola and the superb piano maestro Kemuel Roig will also grace the stage amongst incredible talent during this series.

A Grammy winner and multiple Grammy nominee, winner of the Sarah Vaughn Vocal Jazz Competition, the Thelonius Monk Institute International Jazz Competition, and the NAACP Outstanding Image Award, Jazzmeia is an accomplished artist including being a consummate musician, composer, big band arranger and educator. |

Her most recent album, "How Love Begins" co-produced with jazz hero Christian McBride, is currently up for a Grammy for Best Jazz Vocal Album and she is the winner of the prestigious 2021 American Traditions Vocal Competition Gold Medal. Making her Miami debut on the eve of Women's History Month, the Jazz Series at Faena once again takes great pride in presenting an emerging woman jazz talent on the eve of global success. |

Hailing from all over the globe, Accent’s improbable meeting of these six self-described “jazz vocal nerds” could only have happened in the age of social media. After becoming long distance fans of each other’s YouTube videos, the group collaborated online, eventually coming together and since released five albums, performed all over the world and been featured in two sold-out Christmas shows at London’s Royal Albert Hall. |

Young talented and up and coming, Michael Mayo, son of Los Angeles music royalty, his father was a member of Earth Wind & Fire signed to Mack Avenue Records, and most recently recorded and performed with Herbie Hancock, Jacob Collier, Jon Batiste, Gretchen Parlato, Josh Groban, and Nate Smith among many others. Career highlights include singing at the White House, the Kennedy Center and Renée Fleming’s American Voices Festival with solo standout performances at the North Sea Jazz Festival, the Detroit Jazz Festival and the Monterey Jazz Festival. |
