Miami’s skate community rolled in style last month at ángeles veloces arcanos fugaces, a participatory pop-up installation on Faena Beach from art collective assume vivid astro focus (avaf) that reimagined a roller dancing rink as an immersive art experience.

The neo-disco rink designed by Eli Sudbrack, of avaf, featured a sound booth at its center manned by a roster of prominent DJs including DJ Pony, Richie Hell and Gazelle who set a celebratory vibe while attendees skated in view of the ocean under a sunset sky.

“Through Faena Art programming we create a place for a diversity of voices where various communities from Miami can experience a cultural exchange,” said Alan Faena.

“This unique type of experimental programming encourages new dialogues, which is at the core of Faena Art’s mission.”
