ABOUT THE PROJECT:
Summer is for the locals. Faena Art is proud to present a new site-specific installation by Alex Nuñez in the Faena Art Project Room, opening this summer in Miami Beach. Known for her bold, layered mixed-media works that explore memory, pop culture, and tropical surrealism, Nuñez transforms the space into a vibrant, immersive environment that celebrates the sensory pleasures of summer. Join us for the opening night and experience a season of color, texture, and imagination—where art and atmosphere blend into a lush visual escape.

ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Alex Nuñez is a Cuban-American artist based in Miami, known for her vibrant mixed-media works that blend acrylic, oil, gold leaf, and organic materials to create lush, dreamlike landscapes exploring pop culture, memory, and the environment. She is also the host of Sunday Painter, a long-running podcast featuring intimate conversations with artists about their creative process. Her work has been exhibited at institutions like MOCA North Miami and El Museo del Barrio, and she has received honors including the Warhol Foundation’s Wavemaker Grant.

As Faena Art's first dedicated space in Miami, the Project Room serves as a platform for experimentation and development of innovative ideas. The Project Room encourages artists to explore new facets of their practice and hosts an artist residency, a series of artists talks, and fosters new models for social interaction that transcend the traditional boundaries of art, science, philosophy, and social practice.
