Performance art meets dance party at NOCTURNE, a new late-night series at Faena Theater.
NOCTURNE | A Ride to the Unexpected
Showcase your creativity and step into the fantastical world of NOCTURNE, a new late-night, performance art-driven dance party at Faena Theater.
Part Miami Beach nightclub and part theater performance, NOCTURNE celebrates the weirdly wonderful with an out-of-the-box theme every month (think “Secret Jungle” & “Evil Twins”) which inspires the night's music, costumes, cocktails & entertainment.
To bring these alternate universes to life, NOCTURNE enlists an impressive lineup of local artists ranging from burlesque dancers and aerialists, to acrobats, to musicians, to graphic designers – all of whom join together to create a unique nightlife experience unlike anything else.
With participation and creative expression at its core, NOCTURNE invites partygoers to dress in theme with each event, engage with performers, and share this one-of-a-kind celebration with one another.
On February 29, Faena and Avion collaborate to present NOCTURNE, Too much is never enough!
An extra day this calendar year means we are celebrating by being EXTRA all around. This month’s Nocturne installment features all things Camp, fashion-forward and brings all things extra to the Faena Theater center stage.
This special night will serve as this year's first installment of the series and sure to be over-the-top with drag-queen vignettes, live music by Paperwater, Drag performacne by TP Lords, burlesque by Bryona Ashly and more.
MARCH 22 - "HOUSE OF DOLLS"
NOCTURNE at Faena Theater kicked off with a House of Dolls theme on March 22 where marionettes, puppet masters and porcelain dolls were brought to life in a theatrical dollhouse.
Participants were encouraged to dress in theme, drawing inspiration from their wildest imagination for traditional puppets and puppeteers, voodoo dolls, Barbies, and any other creations they can dream up.
APRIL 26 - "SECRET JUNGLE"
On April 26, party-goers discovered a Secret Jungle theme, where Garden of Eden met "A Midsummer Night’s Dream" in a lush, tropical setting.
Pulling inspiration from Greek Mythology, exotic animals, folklore fairies and endless other whimsical creatures, guests were invited to show up draped head to toe in their wildest attire.
MAY 31 - "EVIL TWINS"
There were two sides to every face at the third installment of NOCTURNE. On May 31, the "Evil Twins" theme brought an evening filled with two spirits of every being that live in duality, together, within one true self.
Guests were encouraged to bring their "Jekyll & Hyde", their ying and yang, their black & white swan, dressing as their “evil twin” or share duality-inspired costumes with friends.
JULY 14 - "FRENCH KISS"
Inspired by the decadence and debauchery of Versailles, this after-hours, performance-driven party came to life with an aristocratic pomp and whipped cream-covered whimsy that would make even Marie Antoinette jealous.
SEPTEMBER 14 - "METROPOLIS"
Pulling inspiration from films like “Metropolis” and “Mad Max”, our futuristic dystopia blurred the lines between past and present, man and machine, and performance and audience in exhilarating fashion. DJ Paperwater had partygoers dancing to house beats while themed performances entertained throughout the night. Think aerialists swinging from chains, teasing burlesque dancers in metal corsets, and robot-like contortionists twisting and turning into unbelievable poses.
OCTOBER 25 - "INFERNO"
This past Halloween, Nocturne turned up the heat with “L’Inferno”, a hellish Halloween celebration where flames, fiery passion and pyrotechnics take center stage. This special night will serve as a prelude to Faena’s annual Halloween party in the hotel’s Living Room on October 31, “Disco Inferno.”
